The Department of Political Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Political Theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2008.
The successful candidate must have a program of research in political theory and be able to contribute both to the undergraduate and graduate programs. The appointee will be expected to carry out an independent research program yielding significant peer reviewed publications, compete successfully for external funding to support this research program; teach effectively in undergraduate courses in Political Science, and engage in effective teaching and supervision of masters students and contribute to the supervision of PhD students in the Department of Political Science. Preference will be given to candidates with a completed PhD in Political Science or its equivalent, but candidates who are near completion may also be considered. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be considered first for this position.
